The Aesthetics Department at the Carrollton Eye Clinic has a Coherent Lightsheer Diode Laser for the permanent reduction of unwanted hair. The Coherent Lightsheer Laser is the only laser that has been approved by the FDA for permanent hair reduction. Our trained Technician has undergone an intensive training for certification prior to our introducing this procedure to the community.

Men and women have sought to remove unwanted hair for centuries by shaving, waxing, plucking and most recently through the painful process of electrolysis. Laser hair removal is the fastest growing "aesthetic" laser procedure in the United States. The technical term for this new procedure is "lasertrolysis". Lasertrolysis is a method of removing unwanted hair, utilizing laser energy targeted to the hair follicle to cause a thermal effect and prevent further hairs from growing. A team of laser dermatologists at Massachusetts General Hospital developed the process.

The Light sheer Laser can be used on the widest range of skin colors and hair types usually requiring no pain medication and provides permanent hair reduction with three to four treatments for most patients. More treatments may be necessary for different parts of the body. This laser procedure is permanent hair reduction and has been shown to be much safer, faster, more permanent and less painful than the temporary hair removal methods previously available.

This process is available for both men and women and is provided by a trained certified technician in the privacy of the Aesthetic Room. Treatment areas for women include facial hair (upper lip, cheeks, and chin), forearms, underarms, bikini, and legs. Treatment areas for men include back, neck, arms, chest, and ears.
